Music Feature: Pressure Kill Common Style
Pressure Kill Common Style has only been around as a band for a few years, but they have already garnered attention and,
in 2006, released an EP (Sad Animal) on Edmonton based Rectangle Records. The plan is to have a full length CD out in
2007. Sad Animal has a harder, more rock sound to it than some of our previous feature artists, as can be heard from the
opening notes of Holographique. And with it being an EP, rather than a full length CD,
you get all strong songs and don’t have to worry about filler. Sad Animal is available at Megatunes.
Their music has described as complicated shoegaze pop which features distortion, droning riffs, and noisy guitars. The distortion can be heard on Let's Lose Track, which has more of a pop hook to it. Songs three and four are actually part of the same song, called Colony of Surgeons. Track three is a 40 second bit called Colony Preview and track four is the song itself, which doesn’t even get into any lyrics until a good minute in.
