Itinerary:
This date is still tentative. It has changed and I need to confirm with the Libertine in the new year.

How about a free roast-pork dinner and then a book-club meeting?

There are a few titles available at the Calgary Public Library (they have many branches plus you can use the hold system) and (of course) lots of bookstores carry them. Or go to You Tube, or try a cooking book. Or there are some recipes in French Women Don't Get Fat.

The December book, Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: a year of food life, by Barbara Kingsolver, inspired us and we are going to make cheese, or kefir or yoghurt, and then talk about our experiences over the holidays.

Get a book from the library or watch a video on You Tube and try out a recipe.

We don't talk about the book till after dinner. We just chit chat about good things till everyone has arrived and eaten.

The plan: Enjoy the free roast pork at the Libertine Public House, then if it's quiet enough upstairs, we can stay and discuss the books. If not, we will (likely) be going to the downtown Co-op grocerty store's upper-level eating/seating for our discussion.

I think it might be okay to bring a dessert to the Co-op if you purchased the supplies from them. I have seen staff up there eating their lunches, so...I'm thinking maybe...?

See the Aug. 14th "Get Roasted" event for details on the dinner. :)
