For seven nights, three-foot, illuminated floating spheres will be located along the Bow River. These lit spheres will be colour programmed to highlight glacier melt, streams and rainfall that sustain the Bow River. On the eve of August 21, a total of 500 inflated, illuminated spheres will be launched from various sites along the river. The Louise Riley Bridge and trees along the river will be lit during this week long event, coinciding with the locations of spheres along the river.

Laurent Louyer's Creatmosphere Studios is a London, England-based studio that explores light and how it interplays art, architecture and space. Often ephemeral and large scale, Laurent's installations are diverse and exploratory, encouraging the viewer to reconsider the environment through the way in which the installation illuminates it, and to reconsider the nature of light and its application. Laurent has received commissions throughout Europe with Celebration of the Bow River 2010 being his first Canadian undertaking.

This event will probably include some walking to gain different vantage points of the show. Please wear comfortable clothing, especially footwear.
