Maura's vocal styIe has been described as emotive, while alternately warm and haunting. We were treated to a mix of songs from Maura’s first album Some Other Time and second album Unsteady. The evening was a mix of traditional songs, Wayfaring stranger, The water is wide, covers, U2’s Stuck in a moment Blue Rodeo’s Lost Together, and originals, Beating of wings, Idle conversation. With a great band, including Russell Broom on guitar, Sandro Dominelli on drums, Bob Tildesley on Horn and Mike Lent, musical director on Bass, the evening ranged from country influenced to folk to jazz and contemporary pop. At times the vocals were accompanied by only bass, only drums or guitar. Next time we will demand an encore but an extra treat Maura did give everyone a copy of her new CD. See you again soon.
